Come up and drive The Old Moonshine Hwy, Scenic Highway 197 north from Clarkesville to Lake Burton.
Many other galleries and shops, including Burton Gallery and Cottage Garden Furniture are along Scenic Highway 197 ... a beautiful drive through the mountains.
Just a few miles away, is Alpine Helen, a unique shopping village with outlet stores and restaurants, too. ngeorgia.com lists many area attractions and activities.

Our area is home to some spectacular waterfalls. Becky Branch Falls, Dick's Creek Falls, Martin Creek Falls, Mud Creek Falls, and Minnehaha Falls, located on Bear Gap Rd., just south of Lake Burton in Rabun county.
There are hiking trails galore ... georgiatrails.com, and jwww.com for some good information. Thousands of acres of National Forest provide other wilderness adventures. There is mountain biking, horseback riding, golf, fishing (visit explore georgia.org and georgia-outdoors.com), and white water rafting.
